Normans Cay developed a bad reputation back during the 1970's as a haven for drug smugglers. Today, there is still a small runway and a few houses on the northern end. The only remaining sign of that activity is the wreckage of a pretty large airplane sitting in the middle of the harbor. Again the water was incredible. (click on any picture to enlarge)
We anchored next to a pretty little island with a coconut tree.
Of course, we had the usuals and watched the sunset.
There were occasional rain showers off in the distance and I was really hoping for a shower to come over and wash off the boat. But no luck there. The water in the marinas here is $.50 per gallon.
We stay at Normans Cay for two days and then head further south, all the way down to Staniel Cay, our southern most destination, about half way down the chain of the Exumas, to pick up some water. We bypass Wardrick Wells Cay and the Exuma Cays Land and Sea Park which we intend to visit on our way back north.
