Captain Ted navigates up the Neuse River to New Bern, NC.
We spent several weeks in the Neuse River / Bay River / Cape Lookout areas.
New Bern was a delightful city with excellent facilities, outstanding historical places to visit and great restaurants. All within walking distance of the docks.
We spotted an unusual car uh, boat, while docked at New Bern.
Docked at Oriental Harbor Marina across from the shrimp boats.
Some of the dock workers take a break from unloading boats.
The shrimp boats moved up to the loading dock one at a time in the small harbor.
We found a delightful anchorage up Vandermeere Creek, next to the small town of Vandermeere on the Bay River.
Captain Ted demonstrates the appropriate use of rum on the high seas.
The Admiral (Katy) extolls the virtues of fruit juices.
A black bear swims across Vandemeere Creek about 8:00 a.m. on October 4, 2007.
A peaceful day at the Cape Lookout bight.
A couple of working fishermen check their nets.
Time to enjoy another Cape sunset.
